Mizuki (ミヅキ) is Honoka's younger sister who was abducted by the nobuseri and sold to the capital. The nobuseri exploited her imprisonment to coerce Honoka into becoming their informant against the Shikimoribito. She is voiced by Chiaki Ōsawa in the Japanese version and voiced by Laura Bailey in the English version.

Appearance

Mizuki is a young girl with a skinny build, pale skin, short teal hair with a short bun, and purple eyes. She wears a gold-colored hairpin, a kosode with a black body and white sleeves, and cylindrical earrings.

History

As a young child, Mizuki's mother was killed by the nobuseri, and she only had a hairpin as a physical memory of her existence. When her village was attacked again, she was abducted by the nobuseri and given to the capital, where she was made to serve the Amanushi and locked up with other women to be treated as sex slaves who would be impregnated with the emperor's clones. Additionally, the nobuseri used Mizuki's imprisonment to coerce Honoka into being their informant in the Shikimoribito Village with the threat of killing Mizuki if she refused.

Imprisonment

During her imprisonment, she acted as a servant to Sanae, who was the Amanushi's favored woman. Mizuki cared for Sanae but wondered how the latter could fall in love with the same emperor who kidnapped her. Although Mizuki acted polite to the guards, behind closed doors she and her fellow servants Chiaki and Koharu were relieved to drop the servant act each time.
