Plot[]

An express messenger returns to Kōgakyo, where a scout informs Tessai that the battle between Kanna Village and the nobuseri has begun. The latter politely interrupts Ukyō's card game and relays this to him, and he asks if the samurai are there since Kirara is at the village. Speaking further, Tessai states that Hyōgo and Kyūzō were sent to investigate, but upon finding only Hyōgo's body, it was assumed that Kyūzō betrayed them because his whereabouts are unknown. Hearing that Tessai did not inform his father, Ukyō orders him not to tell the news to him and also calls off the samurai hunt. Placing a card down, he asks Tessai to tell him everything he knows about Kanna Village, saying that something that will turn the world upside-down will happen soon. Far away in the village, Rikichi offers the samurai to the nobuseri and asks for forgiveness. As he examines the samurai, Sōbei is shocked to see Kyūzō among them, telling him that it is a shame he has stooped very low. Kyūzō reciprocates the same insult at him, angering him enough to swing his sword onto the ground as a threat. Recalling that he only sees four samurai, Sōbei asks where the other three are located. Rikichi clarifies that the villagers tried to kill them but failed, chasing them out of the village with their archery skills instead.

Interested, Shūsai orders some mimizuku to take the disarmed samurai. Upon discovering some hidden rice, the mimizuku aim their katana at the villagers, scaring them and surprising the samurai. Sōbei declares that he will make an example out of Kanna Village, prompting a terrified Yohei to ask how they will grow rice without them. Shūsai answers that he can just exploit other villages. Gosaku pleads with them to hear them out, but Sōbei claims that their change of heart will not change the seriousness of their offense. Before Shūsai and his nobuseri can massacre the villagers, Kirara shows up, and the two commanding nobuseri recognize her as the woman who persuaded the samurai. She offers her own life in exchange for the villagers' safety, interesting Shūsai at first. When she tries to appeal to their former samurai code instead of acting like bandits, Shūsai orders her to be silent, warning that she cannot use smooth talk to change his mind. As he points his sword at her, Shūsai moves his head back in laughter and commends her offer, agreeing to accept her life. Immediately, Shūsai takes the villagers' bales of rice while the mimizuku apprehend her, and the nobuseri head back into their harvesting fortress.

In the forest, Okara, Shino and Komachi watch them leave, and Gisaku reconvenes with the male villagers. Inside the harvesting fortress, Katsushirō, Gorobei and Kyūzō are thrown into small jail cells. Shūsai and Sōbei inform Kirara that she and the rice will be taken to the capital. She is shocked and angrily asks if that is truly where all the abducted women in the past have been taken to, and Sōbei claims that all the women are happier there compared to their villages. Kirara rebuffs the notion, noting that the women are separated from their families, but Shūsai nonchalantly remarks that she will experience capital life for herself. Immediately, he orders his men to lower their ship and then re-ascend as they leave the village ravine, suggesting that Kirara look at her village one last time since he will annihilate Kanna Village. The water priestess chastises him for his broken promise and abandoning his samurai way, but Shūsai replies that he only stated that he would accept her life. As she wriggles, Kikuchiyo's head awakens, and likewise his headless body bursts out of the rice bales in a lower part of the ship. Additionally, Kambei, Heihachi, and Shichirōji emerge from the rice, and Kambei orders Heihachi to sabotage the ship's engine. Subsequently, Kambei knocks down the storage door, and he and Shichirōji slay the mimizuku in the hallway.

Meanwhile, Gorobei has freed himself of his restraints and knocks out the guard, taking the cell keys. Unlocking Katsushirō's cell, he sees that he has not freed himself whereas Kyūzō has already done so. As the nobuseri approach Kanna Village, Kirara pleads with them to stop, but a guard puts his katana to her neck while Shūsai orders her to watch silently. Connecting the bridge between the ship's two halves, Kambei, Kikuchiyo and Shichirōji slay more nobuseri, causing a mimizuku to order a yakan to warn Shūsai. Shichirōji stops the yakan, and Heihachi himself uses yakan armor to roll down some stairs to reach the engine room. Elsewhere, Gorobei and Kyūzō have no problem killing the mimizuku whereas Katsushirō becomes frozen when pushed by one. Although Gorobei offers to lend a hand, Katsushirō yells that he can handle it and gains the strength to fight them by reminding himself that he is a samurai. After repeatedly punching and then stabbing one mimizuku, Katsushirō lays on his back in exhaustion, so Gorobei advises him to continue their battle. Jumping through several gears, Heihachi messes with the engine controls to make the ship crash. When a yakan leaves the main room to check on the commotion, he is killed by Kikuchiyo's body, which fights off more mimizuku and yakan. Kambei and Shichirōji also appear, making Shūsai realize that the samurai tricked him.

To counter them, several raiden appear and surround the samurai, but Gorobei crashes into the room and secures Kikuchiyo's head and Kirara. Kyūzō appears and cuts down one of the raiden, then helping Kambei and the others. Kikuchiyo reattaches his head to his body and is eager to fight, but he is disappointed that everyone else, even Katsushirō, have already fought most of the nobuseri. Taking cover, Kirara is uneased by Katsushirō's wild look as he murders bandits. Dodging Sōbei's hit, Kyūzō begins cutting off his right arm when Kambei yells to him that the large nobuseri's weak points are their chests. Furious by the revelation, Shūsai aims his gun at Kambei, who is pushed out of the way by Shichirōji. Only slightly injured by the blasts, Shichirōji launches his left arm at the gun and flies forward, using Shūsai's body to swing around and grab Kyūzō. He lets go of the latter, who flies at Sōbei and cuts apart the beams and joints in his chest area, severing his legs and greatly injuring the nobuseri. Suddenly, the ship crashes onto the ground, but before Shūsai can shoot Kambei in retaliation, part of the ship wall knocks him to the side. Heihachi runs for his life from the ensuing explosion behind him, and the villagers are surprised at the ship's violent crashing. Shūsai aims his gun at Kambei, who charges and throws his katana at one of the barrels, blowing the blast back onto Shūsai but also injuring Kambei. Katsushirō quickly catches the falling Kirara, and the injured Shūsai deduces that Kambei served on the defeated side in the Great War.

The ship crashes into the village ravine, so Shichirōji creates an exit per Kambei's order. Using his metal arm, Shichirōji latches onto a loose tree trunk and pulls it to create a makeshift bridge, yelling at everyone to cross it quickly. Kambei affirms to the resentful Shūsai that he is a samurai, and Kikuchiyo holds the bridge as they escape. Consequently, the harvesting fortress begins to fall to the bottom of the ravine, exploding upon impact. Everyone grasps for dear life on the cliff wall, with Shichirōji being pulled up by Kikuchiyo. As Kirara again notices Katsushirō's traumatized face, Shūsai and a few other nobuseri have survived the crash.
